The excitement, possibilities and challenge of commercial business led me to leave my secondary school teaching role and took me into my first private sector job as Territory Manager responsible for 25 service stations.

Arguably the biggest challenge for me was as an owner operator of an SME that operated 7 days so I understand the effort, hard work and enterprise that owners put into their business - so you do indeed, deserve of my best.

When in the library I can’t resist picking up the latest business book and a particular favourite that I recommend is “the enthusiastic employee” by David Sirota.

With regards to health, I subscribe to the belief of do a little a lot, do a small amount of exercise each day, but over a lot of different activities such as tennis, golf, surfing, diving, fishing and cycling (Otago Rail trail really neat).
