Businesses Wanted – Buyers Waiting
Currently we have a huge database of prospective buyers who have signed confidentiality undertakings, understand the sale process and are looking for sound businesses with proven profits or genuine potential.
These buyers fall into a number of categories with different goals and objectives.
a. “Job Buyers” – these are primarily interested in employment – buying a business that will provide a job for themselves and possibly family. Their focus is likely to be on simple cash-and-carry businesses.
b. Lifestyle Buyers – seeking businesses that tie in with interests or passions (e.g. sports, music, food) or provide a different lifestyle (e.g. by the beach or country living).
c. Immigrant Buyers – looking for businesses that may not require strong English language skills but provide steady cashflow. These are first-class buyers who usually have a strong work ethic and are service-oriented.
d. Investor Buyers – whose major concern is return on investment – how much the business will earn in relation to how much they have to pay. Many of these will want solid financial statements or can perceive rapid growth potential.
e. Synergistic Buyers – existing business owners looking to grow through acquisition. Their targets may be competitors or other businesses in the same industry that enable them to expand their range of goods or services.
Buyers may fall into one-or-more categories. Returning ex-pats and corporate refugees may be ‘buying a job’ as well as seeking a sound investment.
Who ever the type of buyer we remain convinced that business ownership offers great rewards – both financial and personal.
